A post of quittings:
Some stories from my work and the people who have recently quit.
-Daniel
Daniel was a new server. He had been working for about a month when he decided to quit. He was suppose to come in at 4:30. Instead, he called in at 4 and declared that he was done. It basically boils down to the fact that he didn't want to leave his new dorm room.
-Heather
Heater was a dishwasher. She told us she was going to the restroom. 10 minutes later after she still didn't return, we decided to go the restroom to find her. All we found was her apron on the floor.
-Steve
Stever was the other delivery driver. Covalli's decided to stop doing deliveries on Friday this week. This gave neither Steve nor I 2 weeks notice. It was alright for me...I'm leaving anyways. Steve got pissed and left in the middle of his shift.
-Kyle
Kyle is one of my favorite people at Covalli's. He's a dishwasher and he's awesome. But today, just out of the blue he quit as soon as his shift was over.
-Wendy
Wendy worked one shift, left for break and told us she was going to an interview at another restaurant. She was suppose to come back in the evening. She never did. Never called or anything. Best part: evidently she thought she got the job at the other restaurant, but didn't. She finally decided to call us and asked if she still had a job with us. We told her, "Fuck no."
List of other people who have quit or are leaving this week:
-Sandy
-Christina
-Me
I don't know what Covalli's has been doing, but something's been up. We didn't get our paychecks today. The accountant called and said the reason was because the computer had me clocked in for negative 15 hours! WTF, mate. How do I work negative 15 hours. According to the computer, I owe Covalli's money for working there. This, of course, turned into a big joke in the kitchen. Stupid computer. You'd think there would be parameters in the payroll program to prevent negative hours. Negative time is not possible in application. Theory, maybe, but at an Italian restaurant...not unless I'm so goddamn good that I broke the speed of light at my job and made time reverse itself. Anyways, I have two days of double shifts left and then it's off to university again!

I went to Wild Bill's with Amanda last night. It was extremely fun. We went to T.G.I. Fridays first, ate some appetizers, and then headed out to Gwinnet (is Great!) to party. We danced for a few hours, having fun, sweating like pigs until...Amanda looks at me and says, "We have to go now!" So, I follow Amanda around this weird path that she is navigating. I soon realize she is trying to avoid someone. Too bad we ran into them anyways. Drama. It was still fun, though. I got to bed at four. On the way back we share in our love for Spanish music by listening to it full blast in the car. Most of it was reggaeton.

I have less than a week left at work. I'm excited, but my employer is not. It'll be a sad parting, although...I am tired of being there.

I think Brian is pissed at me right now. I keep calling the booger, but he never answers. He's one of the few people I actually want to talk with, but no, he doesn't want to talk to me. Depressing. A sad perspective on the long distance friendship. It's such a struggle to remember to call anyone anymore. I haven't even hung out with anybody from high school.

Well, I'm off to get purty. I need to go get an oil change. Maybe I'll even hit up D'ville before work. Peace out.

What to say?

I helped Andrea move in on Sunday. That was a mess. 'Nuff said (do the bounce like you're over on Bankhead...)

Move in for me is in a week and a half. Go me.

I work everyday this week.

Life is awesome sometimes.

Can't wait until school.

Sunday, July 30, 2006

So, the week of a million double shifts is over and it seems as though another will begin Monday (even though I don't work one on Monday, but just watch me get called in.) School is a few weeks away (thank God!) and I can't wait. Finally, none of this driving shit in just three weeks. No more buying gas or wondering what that rattling noise is.

Oh, and working so much made me sick, but I'll be better by tomorrow. I get my paycheck Tuesday. Hurray Capitalism!
